Steigenberger Hotels AG is one of the leading hotel companies in Europe. The company, based in Frankfurt am Main, operates 77 hotels in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Egypt. The name Steigenberger stands for top class European hotel management, for quality and reliability – an individual business with a fine sense of tradition and its own unmistakeable identity.

 The umbrella of the Steigenberger Hotel Group covers the following two brands 

• Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts: These 45 individual luxury hotels, some in historical buildings, enjoy excellent locations in cities and attractive holiday regions. 
• InterCityHotel: 32 mid-range Business Hotels located near key transport hubs such as mainline railway stations and airports. InterCityHotels offer central locations, excellent transport links and a modern business environment, all at moderate prices.

 At Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts, all signs point to growth. Together with the economic owner Hamed El Chiaty, founder and – with his family – proprietor of the Egyptian touristic concern Travco Group International Holding S.A.E., the company’s long-range objectives, especially international expansion, are further pursued and developed.

 In 2011 two Steigenberger grand hotels will set new hotel standards in Leipzig as well as on the Baltic island of Usedom in the coastal resort of Heringsdorf. Furthermore a new InterCityHotel in Bonn will be opening for business. 2012 a new deluxe Steigenberger hotel at the Airport Berlin Brandenburg International and a new InterCityHotel in Darmstadt will join the Steigenberger Hotel Group. 2013 the Steigenberger Hotel Bremen will follow suit.

 The prestigious hotel company is also investing in its current portfolio: The Steigenberger Hotels in Düsseldorf and Stuttgart, for example, are currently undergoing comprehensive renovation work to the tune of approx. 30 million Euros. A further 20 million Euros will be spent on the company's flagship hotel, the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof. Along with its partners Steigenberger Hotels AG is investing around 100 million Euros in Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts and InterCityHotels until 2014.
